Give Your Wellbeing a Hug Every Day This Month!

Welcome to Project Lily’s Awesome August Hug – 31 days of quick and simple self-care ideas to support your wellbeing.

Self-care isn’t selfish — it’s essential. Without it, we’re more vulnerable to burnout, anxiety, and stress. With it, we build resilience and move toward greater wellbeing.

In the words of the National Institute of Mental Health:

“Self-care means taking the time to do things that help you live well and improve both your physical health and mental health… Even small acts of self-care in your daily life can have a big impact.”

This August, we’ll explore five key kinds of self-care:

  • Behavioural self-care: small actions and routines that help structure your day and support healthy habits.
  • Physical self-care: looking after your body through rest, nutrition, movement, and sleep.
  • Social self-care: connecting with others in meaningful, supportive ways.
  • Psychological self-care: supporting your emotional wellbeing and reducing stress.
  • Spiritual self-care: connecting with purpose, meaning, or something bigger than yourself.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll explore these more deeply and show how just a few minutes a day can make a big difference.

To join in, you’ll need one of our booklets or posters. You may already have one – but if not, just click here.

Here’s to a month of kindness, calm, and small steps that make a big difference.

Have an Awesome August!
